Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Tuesday called President Donald Trump a liar and told him to “shut up” as the two clashed in a moody start to their first televised debate.
“The point is, everything he says so far is just a lie. I’m not here to expose his lies. Everyone knows he’s a liar,” Biden said.
The tension was palpable from the first few minutes, with the two pausing several times, which led to Biden going wild at one point: “Do you want to shut up, man!”
