New Delhi:
Charter flights from the United Arab Emirates that do not have the approval of the relevant state government in India should not land there, aviation regulator DGCA told the Airport Authority of India on Wednesday ( AAI).
“It has been noticed that some of the charter flights from the United Arab Emirates to India do not have the consent of the Indian state required to operate these flights,” said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). ) in a letter to the IAA.
“In view of the above, it was decided that the airline would submit the approval of the state government concerned to air traffic control (ATC) at the point of destination before departing from the airports of the United Arab Emirates” , he added.
The IAA manages most airports and their ATCs in the country.
“ATC will only authorize arrival if the above approval is granted,” said DGCA.
India resumed domestic passenger flights from May 25 after being immobilized for two months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Regular international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March 23. However, international charter flights approved by the DGCA are authorized to operate.
