Bengaluru:

Without mentioning the name of a party leader, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar on Monday called on Congress workers not to make any “defamatory statements” against a political leader on social media platforms.

Speaking to Twitter, Mr. Shivakumar wrote: “I call on congressional workers not to make defamatory statements against any political leader, on health issues and other issues on social media platforms. It is not in our culture to wish others harm. Congress is a party that embodies brotherhood and humanity. “

His statement comes days after Rajya Sabha and AICC MP in charge of Gujarat, Rajiv Satav comments where he suggested that introspection into the party should begin from the days of the United Progressive Alliance government. -II.

Mr Satav later took to Twitter to clarify his comments at Thursday’s meeting of the party’s upper chamber deputies. Mr Satav, through a series of tweets on Saturday, said he was not comfortable discussing what goes on inside party meetings in outside forums.
