New Delhi:
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be the BJP official for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. The announcement was made this evening after BJP leader JP Nadda spoke with BJP leaders in Bihar.
Three-phase elections to the Assembly of 243 member states will begin on October 28.
Making Mr Fadnavis’ announcement, top party leader Bhupendra Yadav said the party would soon take a call on the division of seats, which has become a contentious issue, with Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti party lobbying the BJP for a quick decision.
“We will speak to LJP and Janata Dal United soon,” Yadav said.
In recent weeks, Mr. Fadnavis had participated in the party’s internal meetings on the Bihar ballot boxes and even visited the state a few times.
