A Delhi court on Tuesday bailed 122 Malaysian nationals accused of attending Markaz in Nizamuddin, the nation’s capital, violating visa requirements, illegally engaging in missionary activities and violating directives from government, issued as a result of COVID-19 epidemic in the country.

Metropolitan chief magistrate Gurmohina Kaur has granted relief to foreigners for providing a personal deposit of 10,000 rupees.

They also filed plea bargaining requests, the list of which was filed with the Metropolitan Magistrate Siddharth Malik on July 8 for the prompt elimination of petitions.

“Siddharth Malik, MM, South East is responsible for expediting the processing of plea bargaining requests made on behalf of all accused according to directions from the Delhi High Court,” said the judge in the order. .

According to the procedure, plea bargaining means that an accused pleads guilty to the offense and prays for a lesser sentence.

During the hearing, all foreign nationals residing in a hotel were brought before the court by videoconference.

They were identified by the relevant official at the Malaysian High Commission as well as by the investigating officer.
