The film was also adept at impressing critics. In his review for GalacticGaming, fILM reviewer Saibal Chatterjee rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars and he wrote: “Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl spares us the spectacle of unsightly breast strokes. What that gives us instead, and without too much flapping of the wings, is a good old touching story of a girl who dared to break free from her cage and fly away – a heroine who we can applaud without resorting to. a bloody war. cry.”
In Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Janhvi Kapoor plays titular Flying Officer Gunjan Saxena, who, along with Flying Officer Srividya Rajan, were the first Indian female combat airmen to operate in the Kargil War Zone on tiny Cheetah helicopters from the IAF.
