The Union’s Health and Family Department said on Wednesday that the country’s recovery rate reached 92.09 percent while the case fatality rate was 1.49 percent.
53,357 patients have recovered and been discharged in the past 24 hours, bringing total recoveries to 76.56,478, according to the Union Health Ministry statement.
It can be seen that 80% of the new cases recovered are concentrated in 10 States and Union territories. Kerala leads with over 8,000 recoveries in one day, followed by Karnataka with over 7,000 recoveries.
India’s coronavirus tally on Wednesday crossed the 83 lakh mark after new 46,254 infections were reported in the past 24 hours. Coronavirus cases in the country continue to decline but the total number of infections has reached 83,13,877 including 5,33,787 active cases.
76% of new confirmed cases are from 10 states and UTs. Kerala and Delhi were the maximum contributors to new cases with more than 6,000 cases each, the ministry said.
514 cases of death have been reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, almost 80% are concentrated in ten states / UTs.
