People coming to Lucknow from other states, especially Delhi and the surrounding area, for Diwali will be required to take a COVID-19 test at bus stations, train stations and the airport, an official said today.
Thirteen health department teams have been deployed to all bus stations, train stations and the airport to screen those arriving in the state capital for Diwali and passenger contact details will also be noted, Lucknow Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Sanjay Says Bhatnagar.
All suspected cases would be tested at home, Dr Bhatnagar said, adding that the step was taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus during the holiday season.
So far, 66,237 cases of COVID-19 and 917 deaths have been recorded in Lucknow.
