Washington:

The United States has delivered two million doses of the antimalarial hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to Brazil to fight COVID-19, said the White House on Sunday, although the drug has not yet proven its effectiveness against the coronavirus .

“HCQ will be used as a prophylactic to help defend Brazil’s nurses, doctors and health professionals from the virus. It will also be used as a therapy to treat Brazilians who become infected,” said a statement.
