India’s COVID-19 tally has crossed the 60 lakh mark with a peak of 82,170 new coronavirus cases and 1,039 deaths reported in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health released this morning. The country now has 60.74703 total cases of coronavirus.
According to government data, with 74,893 more people battling COVID-19, the total number of recoveries has crossed 50 lakh to stand at 50,16,520. The overall recovery rate in the country is 82.58%.
So far, 95,542 people have lost their lives from COVID-19. More than 1,000 people a day have died from coronavirus since September 2. The country’s death rate is 1.57%.
The country now has 9.62 lakh of active coronavirus cases.
