The country’s single-day coronavirus count increased nearly 14%, with a jump of 49,881 new COVID-19 infections, pushing overall Covid figures in India beyond 80 lakh mark, data shows from the Ministry of Health. The country has also reported 517 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total number of Covid-related deaths now stands at 1.20,527.
The number of COVID-19 cases in India surpassed the 80 lakh mark on Thursday with 49,881 new cases, while recoveries soared to 73.15 lakh, pushing the national recovery rate to 90.99%, data shows of the Union Ministry of Health.
