Congressman Rahul Gandhi today attacked the government over India becoming the fourth most affected country in terms of coronavirus cases, describing it as a horrible tragedy, resulting from a deadly mix “d ‘arrogance and incompetence “.
India overtook the UK on Thursday for coronavirus cases to become the fourth most affected country, according to data from the Worldometer and Johns Hopkins University.
“India is firmly on its way to winning the wrong race. A horrible tragedy, the result of a deadly mix of arrogance and incompetence,” tweeted Mr. Gandhi with a visual graph showing India climbing to fourth rank in terms of cases.

India reported more than three lakh cases of the highly infectious disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus a few days after the government announced its “Unlock1” plan. The number of cases has increased by 2,903 today to reach 3,041,019. Maharashtra has the highest cases in India with 1,011,141, followed by Tamil Nadu with 40,698 and Delhi with 34,687.
The death toll rose to 8,498, with a record day-long peak of 396 deaths.
