New Delhi:
Congress alleged on Tuesday it had tainted the Bihar assembly poll count and accused the ruling NDA of “hijacking power.”
Chief Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, who has been camping in Bihar for several days, said party candidates in Kishanganj and Sakra won but did not receive certificates of victory.
He claimed that the Congress candidate in Kishanganj won by 1,266 votes and that the BJP candidate returned home.
“How many fakes will we see in the Bihar polls? Congressman Kishanganj won by 1,266 votes. The BJP candidate had returned home. But our candidate does not receive a certificate of victory. Democracy is assassinated. and his mandate is taken away in Bihar, “Mr. Surjewala tweeted late tonight after the Election Commission ruled out any falsehood.
Mr Surjewala said Sakra’s congressional candidate won by 600 votes but was “declared defeated by 1,700 votes”.
Previously, a delegation of Mahagathbandhan leaders Tariq Anwar, Madan Mohan Jha, Akhilesh Singh and others met with the EC in Patna and complained about the “misuse of power”.
