Srinagar:

One woman was killed and another injured when Pakistan used unprovoked bombing in the Uri area of Jammy and Kashmir, sources said.

Pakistani forces fired mortars and other weapons in an unprovoked ceasefire. The Indian army gives a measured response, according to sources.

This comes one day when Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Rampur area of Baramulla.

“In the early hours of June 12, Pakistan began an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in the Rampur area of Baramulla district, firing mortars and other weapons” said the defense spokesperson.

No injuries were reported before the latest reports were released, a police official told the PTI news agency.

Pakistan has repeatedly violated the ceasefire along the line of control in the neighboring districts of Jammu and Kashmir in recent weeks.

Last week, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by using unprovoked fire at outposts and villages along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in the districts de Poonch and Kathua from Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian troops guarding the borders have responded properly, there have been no reports of casualties on the Indian side, officials said.
