Super star Chiranjeevi has tested positive for the coronavirus. The veteran actor announced in a tweet Monday morning. He tweeted: ‘I took a COVID test before resuming’AcharyaHe added that he is “currently asymptomatic” and that he is quarantined at home. “I am currently asymptomatic and I am quarantining myself at home,” he added. Chiranjeevi has asked all the people who have come to his contact in recent days to get tested. “Ask everyone who has met me in the past 5 days to also get tested for covid. I will keep you posted on my recovery soon,” he tweeted.

Just days before announcing that he had contracted the virus, Chiranjeevi met with the Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao. The photo of their meeting was widely shared on social media. The CM as well as the actor are seen without a mask in the photo.
So far, many members of the Indian film fraternity have tested positive for the coronavirus. Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, his daughter-in-law Aishwarya and his 8-year-old granddaughter also had coronavirus. Other celebrities, who have tested positive, include Genelia D’Souza, Malaiak Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Tamannaah. Other stars like Indira Varma, Kristofer Hivju, Olga Kurylenko, Rachel Matthews and Daniel Dae Kim tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this year.
Chiranjeevi is one of the most revered actors in Telugu cinema. He has also worked in Tamil, Hindi and Kannada films. Chiranjeevi, who made his big screen debut in 1978, has appeared in more than 150 films. He has featured in several Telugu films some of which are Swayam Krushi, Rudraveena, Indra and Aapathbandavudu.
He was last seen in the 2019 film Raa Narasimha Reddy, who also played Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. He will next be seen in the Telugu movie Acharya, directed by Koratala Siva. It will be the 152nd film of his career.
