An FIR has been registered against the leader of the Congressional Farmers’ Cell, Dinesh Gurjar, for his Bhooke Nange Ghar Ka remark against Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, police said Thursday.

Dinesh Gurjar made the remark during a campaign rally on Sunday, after which the BJP state unit complained to the Election Commission, BJP spokesman Rajnish Agrawal said.

Based on a complaint from the election authorities, the FIR was registered on Wednesday against Dinesh Gurjar at the Kachnar Police Station in Ashoknagar District under the relevant sections of the IPC and election laws, said. the responsible police station, Kapil Lakshykar.

At a Sunday election rally in the city of Rajpur in Ashoknagar, Dinesh Gurjar called out Shivraj Singh Chouhan “Bhooke-Nange Ghar Ka” (someone from a very poor household) by comparing him to the “great industrialist” Kamal Nath.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized Congress on Tuesday over the intimidation of Dinesh Gurjar and said he was exposing the “culture” of the opposition party and its attitude towards the poor.
