Strong points

  • CINTAA and FWICE asked producers to comply with the prescribed safety measures
  • “No one can risk the life of human resources,” officials said.
  • Producers were also asked to settle all overdue contributions

New Delhi:

The Federation of West Indian Film Employees (FWICE) and the Association of Cinema and Television Artists (CINTAA) issued a joint statement on Tuesday, after which the shooting of several television programs was canceled. Their message was clear: “No one can risk the life of human resources”. The government of Maharashtra authorized the filming of films, television series and digital series in the non-containment areas of the state after the FWICE has written to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, seeking authorization to restart post-production activities for entertainment projects. After meeting with CINTAA on Monday, FWICE released a joint statement on Tuesday urging producers to follow government security measures for the COVID-19 pandemic and clear the backlog of all artists and technicians before resuming filming.

“It is very unfortunate to note that, even after the strict directives issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to all producers to settle the arrears of contributions of actors, workers and technicians waiting before the announcement of the lock by the government in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic, producers have still not cleared unpaid dues from our members. All unpaid dues from our members should be cleared before fire resumes, “said a part of the joint declaration.

In the joint declaration, CINTAA and FWICE shared 10 points, which all producers must respect before resuming filming. “Although we have always given them our best support, they have not obtained our agreement on many issues, which leads to a lack of clarity and confusion. Many producers take unilateral measures to call our members to shoot, it only created a feeling of agitation and distraction among the members, even before the resumption of filming, “added CINTAA and FWICE in the press release.

Here is the joint statement released by CINTAA and FWICE:

Earlier this week, makeup artist Mickey Contractor and famed stylist Aastha Sharma shared photos of the decorations of their respective projects, in which they can be seen wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) kits as well as face shields and other protective equipment. “On the set, that’s how it’s going to be for a while,” wrote Mickey Contractor while Aastha Sharma said, “The way is safe and slow … It’s different and a little bit out of our comfort zone to follow that. ” again normal but it is possible. “

Today has been a great day for us at Wardrobist. We shot after 93 days !!! It was surreal, scary at first, but IT FEEL VERY GOOD TO BE BACK ON THE SET, to meet all of my work friends and just be there. First of all a big thank you to all the doctors, nurses and all the professionals who wear this PPE kit daily for many hours. Hats off to all of you. We had been there for over 6 hours and it was a challenge. Now the reality and the process that followed. As a stylist working with a client, ensuring your safety is extremely crucial. Provisioning was a bit of a task, but it was doable. The disinfection of clothes and accessories was the most important and longest process, we made sure that all safety measures were taken. The production team and the brand have followed all the measures necessary to ensure our safety and hygiene, by limiting the number of people, we have all received PPE kits, regular disinfection in the van and on the set. The path to follow is safe and slow … It is different and a bit out of our comfort zone to follow this new normal but it is POSSIBLE .. In these moments, you have to help each other to go from the front I’m so thankful for today
