ByteDance is looking to make changes to the business structure of its short video application TikTok, a spokesperson for the company said on Thursday.
TikTok is also in its infancy to establish its headquarters, according to a source close to management’s thought. The company’s five largest offices are located in Los Angeles, New York, London, Dublin and Mumbai, she said previously.
TikTok has been seen to distance itself from Beijing after an investigation by an American national security panel into the security of the personal data it manages, Reuters reported last year.
The company recently lost business in key regions, including India, following a border dispute with China and Hong Kong. Even the Trump administration threatened to ban the video app earlier this week.
Meanwhile, TikTok released its transparency report on Thursday and said it removed more than 49 million videos from its platform in the second half of last year for violating its guidelines.
