The Intelligence Bureau is set to hold its annual conference with state police chiefs during the last week of November and this time it will be entirely virtual. The conference, which is also expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, among others, will be the role of the police in the management of disasters, but will also cover unrest, radicalization and social media. , sources said.
“This goes to our first virtual conference. Due to COVID-19, travel restrictions are there and large congregations are not allowed, so this time all station heads would join this virtual conference from their respective stations,” he said. a senior Intelligence Bureau official told GalacticGaming. .
According to him, the role of social media in inciting violence and riots will also be high on the agendas of states and intelligence agencies.

Two ministers of state – Nityanand Rai and GK Reddy as well as the Union Secretary of the Interior – will also attend the three-day virtual meeting in addition to heads of central investigative agencies and paramilitary forces.

The theme of the conference held last year in Pune was Scientific and Forensic Investigations as well as Technology Enabled Police Services.

Previous conferences of chief executives of police or DGP were organized by the IB in Delhi, but from 2014 PM Modi insisted that these conferences should also be held in other parts of the country. country.
