A woman who attempted to fly from London’s Heathrow Airport with five suitcases full of banknotes worth £ 1.9million ($ 2.44million) has been charged with money laundering money, the UK Border Force announced on Wednesday.

Tara Hanlon, 30, of Leeds, in the north of England, was attempting to board a flight to Dubai on Saturday when she was arrested. Officers searched his suitcases and found the huge carriage of cash, the largest detection at the UK border yet in 2020.

UK Immigration Compliance Minister Chris Philp has said stopping the export of undeclared money from the UK is a vital step in cracking down on organized crime gangs.

Hanlon appeared in Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until November 5.
