Miami, United States:
Former Donald Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale had 10 guns at his home in Florida and his wife accused him of beating her, police said Monday, after being dramatically detained outside from his house.
Parscale allegedly hit his wife, loaded a pistol and threatened to kill herself in an argument on Sunday, a police report on the incident in Fort Lauderdale, 50 kilometers north of Miami.
Parscale was sacked from his post as campaign manager when Trump sank in the polls in July, just four months before the November election.
In a police bodycam video, Parscale’s wife, Candice, is seen outside the house in a bikini and towel telling police he was “acting crazy” and loaded a gun with fist.
“I saw him open the blinds in the front yard and he closed them and I heard what I thought was a gunshot,” she said.
Images show Parscale, 44, later emerging from the house, shirtless and holding a can of beer.
He was approached by armed policemen, thrown to the ground and handcuffed as he repeatedly said “I did nothing”.
The police report said he appeared to be drunk and quoted Candice Parscale, 41, as saying her husband had become violent in recent weeks.
“I noticed several large bruises on both arms, cheek and forehead,” Detective Steven Smith wrote in the report. “When I asked how she got the bruises, (she) said Brad Parscale hit her.”
The sacked campaign leader is said to have two shotguns, two rifles and six handguns on the property. He was in a mental health facility for assessment.
He was demoted shortly after a Trump campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was widely criticized for his low turnout. He remained a senior member of the campaign team.
