New Delhi:
The ruling BJP today pledged 19 lakh jobs and a free coronavirus vaccination for all in its manifesto for Bihar’s election starting next week. The party also stressed that ally Nitish Kumar will be the chief minister for the next five years.
In an attempt to undermine opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav’s promise of “10 lakh government jobs”, BJP’s “Sankalp Patra” decides to generate 19 lakh jobs. Jobs have become the centerpiece of Bihar’s bitter campaign, with Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) tying oversized crowds at his rallies to anger at the government led by Nitish Kumar over crippling unemployment in the state .
Nitish Kumar, heckled at two recent rallies, has been seen attacking and ridiculing Tejashwi’s job promise, calling him inexperienced and naive. The BJP, in the first response to Tejashwi’s plan and its crowded gatherings, dissected its promise and wondered how it planned to find the funds to offer 10 lakh jobs.
The BJP manifesto is the first to include a Covid vaccine, which is still in development and is being pursued by various companies and scientists around the world.
The promises of the BJP include:
- 19 lakh job opportunities
- Free Covid vaccination for everyone in Bihar
- 3 appointments of new lakh teachers
- Make Bihar an IT hub to generate 1 0 lakh jobs
- Make a crore of empowered women
- A lakh jobs in the health sector
- Pucca houses for 30 lakh people
- free tablets for all students in class 9
Bihar will vote for a new assembly of 243 members on October 28, November 3 and 7. The results will be announced on November 10.
