Uttarakhand police questioned Mahesh Negi on Saturday accused of sexual harassment (FILE)
Dehradun:
Regarding allegations of sexual harassment against BJP MK Mahesh Negi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said on Saturday that conducting a DNA test is a legal process and is not in the hands of the government but that Negi is ready to endure it.
“A DNA test is not in the hands of the government, but it is a legal process. Mahesh Negi has said he is ready for it. The court will decide what needs to be done in this case,” said Rawat.
Uttarakhand police questioned Mr. Negi, accused of sexual harassment by a woman, again on Saturday. The police also called the woman’s husband for questioning. Negi was questioned by police on Wednesday.
The woman, who made the allegation, previously posted a video in which she said the BJP MP had been in a physical relationship with her for two years. She also said that her daughter’s DNA sample should be compared with the MP’s and not her husband’s.
