BJP Ladakh unit chief and MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said rupee 5,958 crore was set aside for the comprehensive inclusive development of the Union territory in the 2020-2021 budget by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

“Zanskar is freed from geographic lock by connecting the Leh-Padum-Darcha road. The new Leh-Singayla-Padum road (280 km) is connected by reducing the Old Leh-Kargil-Padum road (440 km) by 160 km by completing two years of work in two months. Infrastructure connectivity is at the heart of modern civilization. Leh at Padum Road is connected in record time, ”Namgyal tweeted.

The legislator declared that Ladakh was in the process of regaining its own geographical, cultural and political identity after becoming a Union territory.

“A new breeze of development awakens Ladakh after having made Ladakh a new territory of the Union with the abrogation of articles 370 and 35 A. Ladakh regains the recognition of its own geographical, cultural and political identity”, at- he adds.

He said several educational institutions were also built in Ladakh last year.

“Education is the foundation on which we build the future. Ladakh obtains its first university, the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa, a management institute, a medical college, an engineering college and two colleges. diplomas, ”he said.
