Patna:
Holding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar responsible for failing to expand religious tourism during his 15-year rule in the state, LJP leader and MP Chirag Paswan said on Sunday he would develop various places associated with the saints Sufis in the state to improve revenue collection.
The LJP will implement its first Bihar 1st vision document, Bihari 1st after coming to power, which talks about promoting religious tourism in the state, he said in a series of tweets.
A large temple dedicated to the goddess Sita will be built in Sitamarhi, the neighborhood in which she was born, he said.
Bihar would not have faced the problem of the shortage of income if Mr Kumar had promoted religious tourism in Bihar, he said in a tweet.
Apart from the goddess Sita, Bihar is associated with several Sufi saints and religious leaders like Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavir and Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh and the places associated with them will be connected via a special circuit by the LJP, did he declare.
The promotion of religious tourism will help the state to increase its income, he added.
Mr Paswan, who criticized his party’s candidates in Karagahar and Chenari in Rohtas district on Sunday, said the next state government would be a “Nitishmukt” (free of Nitish Kumar) government because voting for it would mean push Bihar into the backlog.
Mr Paswan, who has professed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP while opposing JD (U), said Mr Kumar should thank the Saffron party for doing a full page advertisement in the newspapers in his favour.
“Kumar should also be honest with the alliance (NDA), as is its ally the BJP,” he added.
