The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday criticized the Delhi government for banning Chhath Puja on several banks of the Yamuna River in the nation’s capital, saying the Aam Aadmi party-led administration was compensating for not making the necessary arrangements for celebrations.

“The Delhi government has opened up all markets and DTC buses operate without social distancing. The same government is banning puja in the name of Covid-19. Chhath, which is celebrated six days after Diwali, begins on November 20 of this year. It is one of the most popular festivals for the people of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
