Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday ordered the state interior ministry to take immediate disciplinary action and transfer ten police officers to party on a cruise ship in violation of the interlock and curfew, said the office of the chief minister.
A local vernacular had published a report on July 6 with photographs of a group of officials partying on a cruise ship on the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati against lock-in and curfew standards.
“In accordance with instructions from Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the Interior Ministry has initiated disciplinary measures for the transfer of police officers who participated in an evening night during a cruise on the Brahmaputra river, thereby violating lock-in standards and curfew in the city “, according to a statement by the CMO.

Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna in a letter to police commissioner Guwahati instructed him to investigate the matter, submit a report and initiate disciplinary proceedings with notice to the secretary in chief.
