New Delhi:
Congress spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala responded Monday to BJP leader JP Nadda’s allegations against former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, saying the party chairman must question the Center about 2,264 Chinese transgressions that have occurred since 2015.
Responding to his allegations, Mr. Surejwala tweeted: “Dear Sh Nadda, Pl shows the courage to ask Modi Govt about: 1. 2,264 Chinese transgressions since 2015. 2. Martyrdom of 471 jawans and 253 civilians in J&K alone, the highest in 30 years 3. 3,289 Pak ceasefire violations in 2019 alone, the highest in 16 years, up from 583 in 2014. “
This comes in response to JP Nadda’s tweet in which he said: “We only wish that Dr. Singh was also concerned about the Chinese designs when, as Prime Minister, he abjectly ceded hundreds of square kilometers of Indian land to China. He chaired 600 incursions from China between 2010 and 2013! “.
Dr. Singh had asked all Indians earlier today to “stand together as a nation and be united” in response to China “brazenly and illegally seeking to claim parts of Indian territory”.
Senior Congressman and former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in a statement urged the Center to ensure full transparency: “We remind the government that disinformation cannot be a substitute for diplomacy or decisive leadership. but false statements. “
Dr. Singh’s statements came amid the ongoing dispute between India and China after the June 15 and 16 violent confrontation between the troops of the two countries in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh in which at least 20 members of the Indian army were killed.
