Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for the coronavirus, he revealed in a tweet Saturday evening. Maharashtra Minister of Health Rajesh Tope told GalacticGaming that Mr. Bachchan is asymptomatic and stable. In his tweet, 77-year-old Bachchan said he had been admitted to a hospital – Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Amitabh Bachchan also said that his family members and staff have been tested for COVID-19 and that their results are pending. “I tested positive for COVID. Moved to hospital … authorities informing hospital … family and staff have been tested, results are pending,” read part of the tweet. Bachchan. “Everyone who has been close to me in the past 10 days is asked to be tested,” said Bachchan in his tweet.

During the lockdown, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted about working for long hours with detailed warnings that appropriate precautionary measures were in place on the sets. Bachchan tweeted about a hamstring sprain earlier in May. Mr. Bachchan was filming for the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and also for some videos applauding the COVID-19 warriors.

Amitabh Bachchan has succeeded 51 years in Bollywood this year. Last year, in November, the actor wrote about medical exams and procedures at the hospital in a tweet and also in his blog. Earlier in October, Big B was admitted to Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital for a few days for routine checkups.

Last month, Amitabh Bachchan’s Gulabo Sitabo published on the OTT Amazon Prime platform, making it the very first digital version of Big B. M. Bachchan was critically acclaimed for his performance in the film, also starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Amitabh Bachchan’s line of films now includes Brahmastra, Jhund and Chehre. Mr. Bachchan will also be back as a host of Kaun Banega Crorepati for the next season.
