Actor Amitabh Bachchan, currently at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, called reports that he just tested negative for COVID-19 “false, irresponsible, false and an incorrigible lie.” The 77-year-old actor shared a tweet in response to a Times Now report. Other networks such as News18 also reported that the actor tested negative, citing sources at Nanavati Hospital. Amitabh Bachchan announced on July 11 that he had tested positive for the virus and was in hospital – his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, announced shortly after that he had also tested positive and was also in the same hospital. Abhishek’s wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has also tested positive and has been isolated at home. Aishwarya was transferred to hospital a week later. Amitabh Bachchan’s wife Jaya Bachchan has tested negative.
