Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi today for the passage of two crucial bills on agricultural reforms in Lok Sabha and said the laws proposed would free farmers from the clutches of middlemen and help them overcome other obstacles.

In a series of Hindi tweets, Amit Shah said the country is proud of its hard-working farmers, who take responsibility for creating the country’s wealth and prosperity.

He said that in the form of the Modi government, for the first time, there is a government at the Center that is working day and night for the empowerment of farmers and the passage of historic agricultural reform bills in Lok Sabha. Thursday is an “unprecedented step” in this direction.

“These revolutionary laws of the Modi government will transform the agricultural sector, free farmers from the clutches of middlemen and help them overcome other obstacles. These bills will provide new avenues for farmers to sell their products, which will increase their incomes,” “Said Mr. Shah.

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Agricultural Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020 and the Farmers’ Agreement (Empowerment and Protection) on Agricultural Price Insurance and Services, 2020.
