New Delhi:
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked for a response from the Delhi government on a plea for the disclosure of “correct data” from the coronavirus tests performed, the number of positive results and the expected results.
A bench of judges Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad sent an opinion to the Delhi government and requested their position within two days regarding the request, which also requested appropriate treatment of COVID and non-COVID patients in hospitals.
The High Court registered the request for an additional hearing on June 11.
The order came at the request of lawyer Sanjeev Sharma, who argued that there had been several cases where non-COVID patients requiring surgery or emergency procedures were required to undergo a corona test before but the hospital concerned is unable to perform the test as is. not authorized to do so by the Delhi government.
The request, filed through attorney Rakesh Malhotra, also asked the Delhi government and the health facilities authorized to handle COVID-19 cases to publish daily the vacancy status so that patients don’t have to run from pillar to post.
The request also asked the Delhi government to publish correct data on the tests carried out, the number of positive results and the expected results.
The request was made in the main request, which requested a quick test of COVID-19 cases and the reporting of results within 48 hours.
On May 4, the High Court ruled on the request, instructing the Delhi government to publish the correct test data, the number of positive results and the expected results on their websites.
The request alleged that the May 4 High Court instruction was not properly followed by the Delhi government.
