Bombay:
Shiv Sena’s Hindutva, led by Uddhav Thackeray, has been “adulterated” along with its new allies, the NCP and Congress, and the party now needs a “certificate” on the BJP-RSS ideology, BJP leader Ashish Shelar said on Monday.
Picking holes in Mr. Thackeray’s speech at the Sena’s annual gathering in Dussehra on Sunday evening, Mr. Shelar called it “maha flop show “which was marked by” jealousy “.
Mr Shelar also accused Mr Thackeray of misinterpreting the annual Dussehra speech by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat and asked the chief minister not to compare the Hindutva of the Shiv Sena with that of the RSS .
Quoting Mr. Bhagwat’s speech in Nagpur on Sunday morning, Mr. Thackeray said: “the head of the RSS said the Hindutva had been reduced to observing only puja rituals.”
“Those who wear a black cap like him should understand this if they have a brain,” Thackeray said, in a veiled attack on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari over his remarks on Hindutva, while calling for the reopening of the premises. religious worship at the beginning of the month.
Speaking to reporters here, Shelar said: “The speech of the head of the RSS was mentioned in the speech (by Uddhav Thackeray).
“Uddhav ji compared the Hindutva of the RSS and that of today’s Shiv Sena. We humbly ask him not to compare the two. “
The RSS Hindutva “is the skin,” while Mr. Thackeray removed the shawl of the founder of Shiv Sena Hindutva from the late Bal Thackeray for power, the former Maharashtra minister said.
“It would have been better if he had heard Bhagwat’s speech in its entirety. He chose practical parts of the speech of the head of the RSS,” Shelar said.
Mr Shelar also targeted Thackeray for bringing up e-bhoomi pujan’s idea for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya due to the COVID-19 outbreak as well as “supporting CAA first and then s’ oppose it “.
Mr. Bhagwat has never mixed his positions on issues like Shiv Sena does, alleged the former BJP minister.
“Uddhav ji, your Hindutva has been faked in the company of Congress and the NCP. Yes, we repeat, you will need a Hindutva certificate.
“You’ll have to take it from RSS and BJP. And yes, from the black cap too,” Shelar added.
Regarding the chief minister who dared the opposition to overthrow his government, Mr. Shelar said Mr. Thackeray’s comments stemmed from insecurity, adding that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government would collapse “in because of his own actions “.
Mr Shelar called on the MVA government to properly administer Mumbai at least before questioning the performance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
In another taunt, Mr. Shelar said that the “only effective speech” delivered at the Sena rally in Dussehra was that of his Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Raut.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Narayan Rane also dismissed Mr Thackeray’s speech and called it “empty and tirade”.
He said Thackeray was not allowed to speak about Hindutva after forming alliances with “secular parties” in “dishonest fashion” by severing ties with the former BJP ally.
“The Shiv Sena could win 56 seats (in the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly polls) thanks to the blessings of Prime Minister Modi,” Mr. Rane said.
At the rally, Mr Thackeray broke the silence on the allegations against his son Aaditya in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, saying: “Those who seek justice for the son of Bihar are engaging in the murder of the character of the son of Maharashtra. “
Responding to Mr Thackeray’s remarks, Rane reiterated his earlier claim that actor Sushant Singh Rajput had been “murdered”.
“The people accused of the murder will one day go behind bars. Among them will be a minister, who is his son (Uddhav Thackeray)?” he said.
Mr Rane, a former leader of Shiv Sena, however, did not substantiate his claim with evidence, nor did he name the minister.
