Vande Mataram’s version of Esther Hnamte has been seen over five lakh on YouTube

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated a four-year-old girl from Mizoram for singing a contemporary version of the national song “Vande Mataram”. Four-year-old Esther Hnamte also caught the attention of Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and thousands of people with her rendition of the national song.

The little girl’s YouTube channel has over 73,000 subscribers and the video uploaded on October 25 has so far got over five lakh views.

“Dear brothers and sisters, be proud to be an Indian. It is a land of love, care and affection. So beautiful the variety of languages, cultures, lifestyle … Let us unite to be good sons and daughters for our homeland despite the diversity, ”says the video description.

PM Modi retweeted the video shared by Zoramthanga. “Adorable and admirable! Proud of Esther Hnamte for this performance,” said the Prime Minister of Ms. Hnamte’s version of the national song.

“Bewitching Esther Hnamte, a 4 year old kid from Lunglei, Mizoram singing” Maa Tujhe Salaam, Vande Mataram “, Zoramthanga tweeted.

Ms Hnamte’s video features several professional shots taken in different locations, from mountains to mountainous towns in the northeastern state. There are also drone shots of scenic fields and forest roads.

In a white shirt and black skirt, with a ribbon pinned to the collar, the four-year-old wears the clip gracefully. Her version was improvised with electric guitars and elements of soft rock, and it received a positive response from listeners as well as viewers of the video.

Other videos on Ms Hnamte’s YouTube channel show her practicing the song at home, with a team seen trying out instruments.

Musician AR Rahman had sung his blockbuster “Vande Mataram” in a more contemporary style in his studio album of the same name in 1997, which received a good response around this time, with the chorus “Maa Tujhe Salaam” becoming instantly recognizable among listeners. .
