On Friday, Lok Sabha Congress Chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury blamed the Centre’s “abrupt and unprofessional” closure strategy for the spike in coronavirus numbers across the country.
Chowdhury also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to descend from “virtual India to real India” to get a sense of the crisis.
His comments came one day when the country’s COVID-19 count crossed the three lakh mark with more than 10,000 new cases of the virus.
“Like the imposition of a lockdown, the exit strategy was also taken abruptly and unprofessionally, fraught with danger. Going down from virtual India to real India,” Chowdhury tweeted.
With more than three cases of lakh, India is the fourth most affected country after the United States, Brazil and Russia.
While the United States has so far reported more than 20 lakh of confirmed cases, the tally for Brazil exceeds eight lakh. So far, more than five cases of lakh have been detected in Brazil.
