Bhopal:
A person born to a stranger cannot be a patriot, said BJP MP Pragya Thakur in her latest controversial statement, targeting Congressman Rahul Gandhi without naming him.
BJP MP for Bhopal questioned the patriotism of Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi, the President of the Congress, in his comments on Sunday.
“Chanakya had said that only a son from the ground could protect the country. A person born to a foreign woman cannot be a patriot,” said Pragya Thakur.
“If you have the citizenship of two countries, how can you have patriotic feelings,” said the so-called “Sadhvi”, attacking the Gandhis.
She also said that the Congress party was devoid of morals, ethics and patriotism.
“Congress should look inside. They do not know how to speak. The party is devoid of ethics, morale and patriotism,” she said, speaking out against the party for raising questions about how whose government managed the Chinese crisis.
The foreign origin of Sonia Gandhi, born in Italy, has often been the controversy of the BJP against the Congress party. Pragya Thakur was the last to raise it.
“Pragya embarrassed the post of MP. She has also been implicated in a terrorism case. Now she seems to have lost her temper. The BJP should get her treated,” said congressional spokesperson for JP. Dhanopia in Madhya Pradesh.
Several BJP leaders have called “anti-national” issues raised by Congress and its leaders since the June 15 clash in Ladakh in which 20 soldiers were killed in the line of duty.
In a violent attack on Friday, Rahul Gandhi said in a video posted on Twitter: Prime Minister, you must tell the truth. You have to tell the truth to the country. Do not be afraid. If you say “No land was taken” when it did, it will benefit China. We must fight them together and expel them. So you have to tell the truth without being afraid. Say, “Yes, China has taken our land and we are going to act.” The whole country is with you. “
