Madhya Pradesh police officer Purushottam Sharma justified his actions against his wife

Bhopal:

The news anchor of a regional television station in Bhopal filed a complaint against the wife and son of an IPS (police) agent, accusing them of tarnishing his reputation.

Purushottam Sharma, an IPS officer from 1986, was transferred following a viral video that showed him beating his wife, shortly after she confronted him at the apartment in the ‘anchor.

The anchor filed a complaint against Mr. Sharma’s wife and son at Shahpura Police Station, and claimed that the IPS officer was “like a father” to her and calls him “beta “.

“The complaint states that his privacy and his image have suffered greatly in society and brought his name into disrepute,” Jitendra Patel, head of Shahpura police station, told the Press Trust of India news agency.

The anchor demanded that the police take appropriate measures in the matter and protect them from “mental torture”.

“As I am associated with journalism, I continue to meet officials and politicians quite often,” she said in her complaint.

“On Sunday September 27, DG Purushottam Sharma called me around 7 pm, telling me that he was near my house (residence), so I invited him for a cup of tea,” he said. she says.

The anchor said that some time later Mr Sharma’s wife also reached her apartment and rang the doorbell. “I don’t know her but I opened the door out of courtesy, after which she broke into the apartment,” she added.

Mr. Sharma and his wife had an argument, after which the IPS agent left the house, ”she said.

She claimed Mr Sharma’s wife stayed behind and asked him “unnecessary questions” and also made a video recording of her bedroom, which was made viral on social media by Mr Sharma’s son , making “baseless allegations” against her.

“CEO Saab (Sharma) is like my father and he called me ‘beta’,” said the presenter.

“I never realized that her coming to my house for a cup of tea would become such a big deal. It tarnished my image and compromised my privacy,” she said in the complaint.

The responsible police station said that since it is about discrediting someone’s image, a complaint can only be made to court.

The order to dismiss Sharma from the post of director of the prosecution service and transfer him to the secretary of state without giving him a post was issued on Monday by the undersecretary of the interior ministry, Annu Bhalavi.

“Two videos related to you have gone viral on social networks in which you are seen at first sight engaging in immoral behavior and domestic violence with your wife,” a show-cause notice published by Annu Bhalavi told Purushottam Sharma.

“Your actions are in violation of the rules of All India Services and therefore you are invited to give your clarification on why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for your actions,” he said.

The government has asked Mr. Sharma to submit his response by 5.30pm today, failing which it will be interpreted that he has no response to file and therefore action will be taken against him, according to the order.

Parth, the son of Mr Sharma, deputy commissioner at the Income Tax Department, sent the video to Home Secretary Narottam Mishra and some senior officials, and demanded that a complaint be filed against his father.

Mr Sharma, who has been married for 32 years, said: “This is a family affair, not a crime … I am not a criminal. My wife stalks me everywhere I go. I take care of it.”

The state women’s commission summoned Mr. Sharma on October 5 and also ordered him to ensure the safety of his wife.
