New Delhi:

There seems to be some confusion over the COVID-19 test results for actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her 8-year-old daughter. In a tweet, Maharashtra Minister of Health Rajesh Tope announced that Aishwarya, married to Abhishek Bachchan, had tested positive, as had the couple’s young daughter; Jaya Bachchan was negative, Tope said – a few minutes later, however, he deleted the tweet. Meanwhile, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar said that Aishwarya and her daughter both had a negative result, reports the PTI news agency. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek tested positive yesterday and are at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Jalsa, the Bachchan residence, was closed as a containment zone and all residents were quarantined for 14 days.

Yesterday, Amitabh Bachchan announced in a tweet that the result of his coronavirus test was positive. He wrote: “I tested COVID-19 positive … transferred to hospital … informing hospital authorities … family and staff have been tested, expected results … All those who have been close to me in the past 10 days are asked to be tested! “

Shortly after, Abhishek Bachchan announced that he also had the coronavirus. In a post shared today, he asked fans not to panic.

Amitabh Bachchan is “stable and has mild symptoms,” hospital officials said. He’s in an isolation room.

Actor Anupam Kher revealed today that family members including mother Dulari and brother Raju have tested positive for COVID-19. He was negative, said Kher. Actress Rekha’s bungalow was also sealed after security personnel tested positive. Domestic staff in the households of actor Aamir Khan and filmmakers Karan Johar and Boney Kapoor had previously tested positive for COVID-19. Actress Zoa Morani also caught the virus and has since recovered.
