Agra:
Five people were killed and 18 injured after a bus hit a car on the Lucknow-Agra highway in Uttar Pradesh.
The injured were rescued with the help of residents and the police when the bus overturned after the collision. The injured were then transferred to a nearby hospital.
The bus was traveling to Delhi from Darbhanga, Bihar, when the accident occurred around 5 a.m. today, the ANI news agency reported.
“The private bus was coming from Darbangha and was traveling to Delhi when it struck a car. The two vehicles got off the highway,” said police official Amrendra Pratap Singh, quoted by the ANI news agency. .
“When the information was received, the police and other security personnel arrived on the scene. Five people died and 18 people were injured and admitted to the hospital,” said Singh.
