Wayanad:
A three-year-old girl was reportedly sexually assaulted by a man in Waynad, Kerala, police said on Tuesday.
Police said the 26-year-old man, who was arrested, was part of a circus troupe of which the child’s father was also a member.
A case under the IPC section for rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) has been registered, police said.
He was caught red-handed by the child’s father yesterday, they added.
A district court sentenced him today to 14 days in police custody.
