Delhi government conducts nearly 20,000 COVID-19 tests per day and has 13,500 beds for people infected with the virus, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday while describing a five-pronged approach to tackle the rising tide of new cases of coronavirus in the region. city.
He also thanked the center for providing the Delhi administration with a sufficient number of coronavirus test kits.
Kejriwal, who had previously stated on several occasions that Delhi was ready to fight the epidemic, also said that the increase in COVID-19 cases after “Unlock1”, the first post-lockout phase, admitted that his administration had been overtaken by the unexpected increase in cases. .
More than 3,600 new cases were reported on Friday, bringing the total in the national capital to 77,240. According to government data, 63 virus-related deaths have been recorded in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number to 2,492.
