2 accused of sedition and criminal conspiracy for alleged involvement in the horse trade of deputies

Jaipur:

Two people have been charged with sedition and conspiracy to conspiracy to prosecute their involvement in the horse trade of Congressmen before Rajya Sabha’s elections last month, a senior official said on Friday.

The case was filed following the surveillance of their mobile phones and the identity of political leaders who were in contact with them is being verified, said additional general manager Ashok Rathore of the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad and Special Operation Group.

“Cell phones containing anti-social elements have been placed under surveillance. On the basis of the interception of two phones, certain facts have shown that they and others could be involved in the horse trade of MPs, “Rathore told reporters.

“An FIR was therefore registered against the two owners of the mobile phones and a few others,” he added.

He said that a case was registered under articles 124-A and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

Rathore said an investigation was underway to verify the identity of the political leaders who were in contact with these people.

He said that an investigation had been launched to arrest the two men, while an investigation was also opened into another complaint filed by Congressman Whip Mahesh Joshi.

Joshi had filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau for an investigation into possible horse trading deals while the dispensation from the ruling Congress had also filed a complaint with the SOG for an investigation into the organized crime of transfer of money for the horse trade of legislators to influence the election results of Rajya Sabha and to overthrow the government of Congress led by Ashok Gehlot.
