New Delhi:
The statement by Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar at a rally that Bihar’s election is his last did not come without the biting comments of his opposition rival Tejashwi Yadav and his former ally turned chief critic Chirag Paswan.
Amid the furious buzz of retirement, sources close to the five-time chief minister clarified that he meant “the last election meeting of this election.”
After 15 years in power, Nitish Kumar, 69, faces a tough re-election bid in which he faces several rivals, including former ally Chirag Paswan. Chirag Paswan has asserted throughout his campaign that he remains with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP and that he will work for a coalition government without Nitish Kumar.
A total of 2.35 million voters will vote on November 7 as Bihar heads to its third and final electoral phase to decide the fate of the remaining 78 seats in 16 districts.

Congressman P Chidambaram, meanwhile, said Nitish Kumar “effectively conceded defeat” with this statement.
The ‘last election’ ploy is not a call for support based on her performance, but a call for mercy based on her non-performance
Why should the people of Bihar vote for someone who, if elected, will be a lame duck from day one?
