Bulandshahr:
A 19-year-old woman is believed to have died by suicide on Monday in a village in the Anoopshahar region, police said.
She left behind a suicide note accusing three people of her death.
The police registered a case under section 306 of the IPC (incitement to suicide) on a written complaint from the teenager’s father.
They are looking for the accused who are all on the run.
Senior Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said the woman filed a complaint on October 3 against Kamaruddin, a resident of the same village, for kidnapping, assault and threatening to kill her.
However, after filing a complaint, the woman said she filed it under duress from the family, stressing that “no such incident had occurred with her”.
In a statement recorded in court under Article 164 (recording of confessions and statements) of the CrPC, the girl completely denied the incident.
Based on the woman’s statement, the final report was given at the trial.
The woman then filed another complaint on October 24 against Kamaruddin, her maternal uncle Mubeen and a friend Abrar.
In it, she said Kamaruddin called her on October 16 and the three men took her to Mubeen’s home in Aligarh district, where she was raped.
According to the SSP, the investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, Kamaruddin’s cell phone location showed Haryana’s Faridabad, Abrar in his village while Mubeen’s was in Aligarh.
The girl’s allegations in the report were not confirmed at first glance, but the investigating officer should have resolved the case quickly, which was not done and he was suspended.
In connection with the laxity of the case, the circle officer and police station in charge of Anoopshahar were suspended and the police commissioner (crime) was tasked with investigating and submitting a report within 24 hours.
