15,968 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, 465 deaths in the longest day jump

The coronavirus count in India increased to 4.56 lakh cases this morning.

New Delhi:

India has the largest one-day increase in coronavirus cases and deaths from highly infectious disease, as 15,968 new infections have been reported in the past 24 hours, and 465 patients have died, said this morning the Union Ministry of Health. This brings the number of coronaviruses in the country to 456,183 cases and 14,476 deaths.

About 2.58 lakh patients have recovered so far. The recovery rate stood at 56.7% this morning.

A total of 2,115,195 samples were tested on Tuesday, which is the largest number of samples tested in a single day. A total of 73.52,911 samples have been tested in India since the start of the pandemic.

The country’s average positivity rate – the ratio of positive cases to the number of tests carried out – was 7.42% this morning.
